Finally..my mug shot - well, kind of

Lately I have been wondering if I am in the right profession. For those of you who don't know, I work in the healthcare industry, but lately I've been thinking maybe this isn't right for me. I mean, dont' get me wrong, I enjoy what I do, it's rewarding, I like going to work ...BUT I don't LOVE it. I want to be able to wake up every morning with excitement, but I don't :( I know there are people out there that wake up and dread going into work. Luckily I don't experience that, but I'm not jumping for joy either. I wonder if I worked in the arts if I would feel this way.

Have any of you seen that reality show on TLC called DC cupcakes? It's about two sisters who quit their corporate jobs to open up a cupcake shop...now that would be so much fun! I don't know, maybe I'm just analyzing my life too much. I should appreciate the fact that I have a good job that I enjoy. Some people are struggling out there looking for a decent job and I'm over here complaining that I like my job and not loving it ahhaha

Enough of me blabbing..here is a mug shot of myself (and my other half). I am still apprehensive about putting up a photo of myself so when this picture came out blurry, I thought: "perfect for my blog!" lol

On another note: I have a massive haul to post. This photo doesn't include the E.L.F, F21, and urban outfitters items I have purchased recently. I NEED to stop spending. The photo includes items from Sephora and sasa.com

Have a great week :D

  1. I've experienced both sides of the coin. My bf absolutely abhors his job, he just doesn't think it's his calling in life.
I on the other hand, absolutely love my job. I love the people I work with, I love the work and it's surprisingly in the field of my degree - yeah how often does that happen?
I originally wanted to go into the arts, but you know there's only 3 "proper" careers according to Asian parents; Accounting, Law and Medicine.
I think in the end you should look at whether or not you're happy?
If you're truly unhappy, you should find out more about the career of your choice. Rather change now than 20 years down the line when you have dependants right?
    Good to see you back!

  2. I think it's not too common for people to wake up every morning and be jumping for joy because they love their job so much! it's good that you like it. but of course, there's a risk involved with any step that you take. doing something spontaneous like opening a cupcake shop (so cute!) would be amazing, but how many people would've tried it and failed? i don't know, haha, i'm still in school - i don't want to worry myself with job prospects and that stuff yet haha :P

  4. wowo look at your haul!!

I'm also questioning my career path!! I sometimes dread going to work because I question my ability to perform, why I am where I am, etc. I wanted to quit and move to Taiwan and sell chinese pastries at one point in time hehehe... but, obviously I'm still suck at my job and still complaining about it :p Maybe if you go back for more education you can make a slight switch in careers that still have some relation to healthcare? I think there's so much you can do in that industry!!

  5. Omgosh~ you look gorgeous hun!! You look different from your side profile pic. Aw your SO and you look great together, such a happy photo ^^.

Hm in terms of your decision on profession.. I think you have to ask yourself this:
Do you live to work or do you work to live?
For myself I work to live. I don't know where I'll exactly end up being in the future but I know that even if I'm not jumping for joy every morning when I wake up to go to work, I'll be okay as long as I don't absolutely hate the job and it pays well.

Perhaps you're feeling like you're in a continuous routine. Try changing things up and trying new things (?) not sure how but see if that helps. Otherwise if you keep feeling and thinking about it, you might want to reconsider your career then =)
